Joey built Paradise and the membership structure on the basis that proper skin care ends with positive results. She was given advice on proper face cleansing during her teenage years, which she followed, giving her great results. She wishes everyone to have a good skin experience. Her business skills have come from running various medical businesses over the last few decades. But her background in education has driven us to have one of the most, if not most intensive on-boarding training programs for our employees anywhere. She has crafted and oversees a rigid, evidenced based process to have everyone trained in the developed protocols. She says we want our clients to have the same high quality service everytime they return. It takes months of intensive learning, practice, supervision and testing before any procedure is performed on clients by a new esthetician. Being from an Italian family, she treats everyone at the Spa (employees and clients alike) as if they were her family, with love, kindness and respect. She has one step grandson and just welcomed a new grandson in 2024. Her kind sweet demeanor is left at the door when she is at a poker game, no matter the relationship! 

After graduating from Aveda, April worked in a non-medical aesthetic Spa until she realized she really enjoyed the medical esthetic treatments. She has been an esthetician since 2018. April is sought after because of her fabulous facial massage that sends you into a state of deep relaxation. Her favorite service is micro-needling. Her very chilled personality keeps the Spa on a Zen-like course. When not working, April loves adventure and being outside on a longboard, swimming or hiking, or even relaxing with her fur babies.

Our Laser Guru, also known as Doctor Mike has been in the medical laser world since the late seventies. While in Tulane Biomedical Engineering, he worked with one of the founding medical laser physicians, Dr. Joseph Bellina, on clinical research that would allow for lasers to be used safely in medicine. His research and thesis concerned CO2 laser safety, which he presented at one of the very first medical laser conferences in the world. After medical school and residency he  developed a medical device company that designed, developed, manufactured, and got FDA approval on a number of  medical devices, one used by the Spa, the  CryoPen. In that company capacity, he trained Physicians on Medical Esthetic Lasers, microdermabrasion, Botox, fillers and everything in between.

Along the way he had the privilege of working with the father of medical aesthetic lasers, Dr Rox Anderson at Mass General in Boston on a hair development project. Dr Haas has been involved in the medical laser space for over forty years. Because of his depth and breadth of knowledge in this area, he is extremely conservative in client treatment plans. Do no harm, the main premise of medicine runs deep. He loves teaching Medical Residents through LSU medical school to help with their journey to becoming great practicing physicians. Dr Haas  welcomed a grandchild in 2024, along with their awesome step grandson. When not at the Spa he likes building all types of gadgets, doing Yoga and any outdoor activities.
